Upon the completion of my Master's degree and thesis (Altared States: Process and Signifigance in Lesbian Altarmaking), of which Marione's editing skills were no small part, Marione made me three things out of two pieces of my clothing that needed to be transformed: She made a beautiful velvet and satin vest (which I wore under the ceremonial regalia); a *medal* awarded for my survival (made from velvet with sequins, bangles and bells); and this doll. I took her with me in my pocket to the ceremonies.
